The Trinity Strand Trail

In 2002, a group of dedicated individuals formed the Friends of the Trinity Strand Trail to spearhead the planning, construction, and enhancement of a 7.8-mile non-motorized hike and bike trail along the original Trinity River watercourse. The Trinity Strand Trail is located in the heart of the Dallas Design District. This trail will connect the Katy Trail to the Trinity River and also provide Dallas citizens access to the Southwestern Medical District, Dallas Market Center, downtown and Uptown Dallas, Stemmons Corridor businesses and the Dallas Design District. Trinity Strand Trail also plays an integral role in connecting various trails, neighborhoods, and communities in Dallas. Once our project is complete, we will help with connecting over 73 miles of trail in DFW.

The Mavs Foundation

ABOUT THE MAVS FOUNDATION:

The Mavs Foundation is dedicated to using our unique platform to build a stronger community by empowering youth, women, and families in need through grants and special projects. Established in October 1996, the Mavs Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private foundation affiliated with the Dallas Mavericks professional basketball team.

Over the past 25 years, the Mavs Foundation has provided grant funding totaling more than $8 million dollars to nonprofit organizations serving women, children and families in need, as well as emergency funding, COVID and disaster relief. In addition to grants, the Mavs Foundation has built 54 safe Learn & Play spaces throughout the North Texas community, including 31 basketball courts and 23 Reading & Learning Centers. These spaces are designed to encourage healthy living and provide a safe place for children and residents, as well as expand learning opportunities and access to technology to support youth education programs, teen and adults job-skill training and other critical programs.

Changing lives by supporting programs for kids in foster care, victims of domestic abuse, families struggling with homelessness and hunger, and much more.
